Flick-Chess Variant

It's a fun idea, though a challenging one to implement in Lichess. I've been swamped with tons of other projects, and I still haven't made a dent in my Stockfish issues list either...
Thanks for rising this topic, #7 gameplay description made my day:

>> My personal impression of the gameplay (just from me playing with friends) is that standard chess tactical skills don't really transfer, but there are some oblique strategic parallels to chess. For example the importance of initiative, control of the center and space seem to be preserved. It's possible that additions like not allowing pawns to move backwards could improve the strategic potential. As it is now, I would certainly classify it as requiring much less dexterity than a typical game of hyperbullet between competent players, and the input design could be tweaked to minimize this aspect.

The comparison with hyperbullet is so true :D
What about doing the same with restriction to how you launch the pieces? it will be more chess like...

for example: you can launch pawns only forward, knights only boomerang like?!( hit more in the trajectory), bishops only diagonally, kings you cant launch?!
