Flick-Chess Variant

I've been messing around with the Lichess code base and made a rough version of a flick chess variant (inspired by the video of Magnus playing it). I uploaded a video of it here: youtu.be/SDBNE_B-u0M . It might be a unique feature if there's interest out there for this kind of variant (not to mention willingness from the devs to maintain it)!
Hello! Personally I don't like the idea to convert and degrade a purely mental game into a dexterity game.
Dude, use Angry bird characters and it may be an interesting Android app.
You can't judge a book by its cover. Let me try it, then I'll rate it.

I tried going to the website that he/she played on, but all I found was the words 'pageok'.
This is funny, but it isn't really a chess variant in my opinion. The only chessy thing about it is that taking out the king grants a win.

The link in my address bar just redirects to an address on my local network, which I unfortunately can't make public. As far as I know the address will just resolve to some unaffiliated website in the absence of any redirection through a hosts file or a special DNS server. If you want to play it vkrish, I believe the only option would be to clone my fork of Lichess on github.com/nhulbert/lila and set up your own server.

My personal impression of the gameplay (just from me playing with friends) is that standard chess tactical skills don't really transfer, but there are some oblique strategic parallels to chess. For example the importance of initiative, control of the center and space seem to be preserved. It's possible that additions like not allowing pawns to move backwards could improve the strategic potential. As it is now, I would certainly classify it as requiring much less dexterity than a typical game of hyperbullet between competent players, and the input design could be tweaked to minimize this aspect.

It's of course all a moot point if there's no interest in it, in which case you can just enjoy the funny video!
Ha, that looks entertaining and raises questions about move storage, communication, and game examine...
