Addressing the Issue of the Keyboard Extension

@A_0123456
If that was so, I could create another feature that helps me like multi premoves helps kB, and then I can use it until lichess says that that specific thing is illegal. KB feels like it classifies under external use.

What? I don't understand. Only the lichess leaders, mods, and devs can make a joint change to rules. We know that according to lichess's morals and ToS, kb is illegal due to external use, but that was mentioned a while ago.
It's not banned but it should be.

>Fair Play and Community Guidelines
>1. Cheating. We define this as using any external assistance to strengthen your knowledge and, or, calculation ability to gain an unfair advantage over your opponent.

I will repeat that with words capitalized for emphasis.

The KB extension simply does not do this. That's why it's been able to squeak by as long as it has. Just because our position is the same doesn't mean I have to agree with your reasoning.

If you go on to read the TOS
>These are just some suggestions of what we would consider against the spirit of playing fairly in our community. This list is non-exhaustive and doesn’t detail all activity we can or will take action against. The final word is always with the administrators, and penalties will be applied at the administrators’ discretion.

That last paragraph was just made for exactly something like keyboarding. They can't think of every loophole that someone might find but it certainly flies counter to the spirit of Fair Play and Community Guidelines. But that kind of ban requires them to make a pronouncement which they have sadly been neglectful of doing for reasons that I would love to know.

It dosent directly say that kB is illegal but it’s adding multi premoves, a feature lichess dosent have. Can we both agree it’s unfair if one side has the ability to do multi premoves and hold a bunch of keys while clicking random sqaures and the other has to hold on a piece, drag it across the entire board and dosent have the add on of multiple premoves.

I’m talking about the multiple premove function here.
Also rickrolling is allowed I guess. because it doesn’t directly say it’s allowed the in the rules.

Those cuaculation ability count as in multi-premoves because like it moves multiple times so it’s harder to forget a stradegie you were going to do for beginniners, I’ve had that happen way too often for me.

I agree that kb is technically almost like multi premove. And as @Linspiring pointed out, it does state in the ToS that the list of disallowed external help is non-exhaustive.
Is it just me or does it seem unfair to add a feature that a site dosent have, and is really good but only for a couple of people.

Idk I’m pretty sure I heard someone say that kB had multi premoves so since o can’t download it (no pc) so I just assumed it had it.

If it dosent then we’ll although it does provide assistance that Lichess could have chosen to add, I guess it’s fine.

I agree that kb is technically almost like multi premove. And as @Linspiring pointed out, it does state in the ToS that the list of disallowed external help is non-exhaustive. But at this point, we need more people to agree and maybe even make a petition.

kb doesn't have multi premoves but it can be compared like that to an extent.
@FishNotADish2
It seems to me kb gives a bigger unfair advantage than multiple premoves. Keyboarding can work on every turn that you do whereas multiple premoves are often not of any help. It might be because your opponent did something that made your multiple premoves illegal, or that it was too dangerous to premove because you needed to know your opponents move first. But Keyboarding can be used every single move.
@Linspiring
At higher ultra bullet levels Normaly people play more defensive and pretty unagresssively so multi premoves will save the person a lot of time in the begging and block other players making them run out of time (because it will go Imedietly so can’t make other players turn have much time).

Yeah keyboard still is assistance from the outside but as @Linspiring pointed it dosent directly contradict the rules.

Just relised your @Linspiring pinged you 3 times because I didn’t see your name lol
