Chess wisdom

Quote by Garry Kasparov:
Boris Vasilievich was the only top-class player of his generation who played gambits regularly and without fear ... Over a period of 30 years he did not lose a single game with the King's Gambit, and among those defeated were numerous strong players of all generations, from Averbakh, Bronstein and Fischer, to Seirawan.

😍Note by Bishop1964: I think that Boris Vasilievich did also play the Bongcloud. I have to analyze his games.😍

Quote by Mikhail Tal:
"You must take your opponent into a deep dark forest where 2+2=5, and the path leading out is only wide enough for one"

Quote by Mikhail Botwinnik:
"Chess cannot be taught. Chess can only be learned."

😍😍
Quote by Aaron Nimzowitsch:
"The passed Pawn is a criminal, who should be kept under lock and key. Mild measures, such as police surveillance, are not sufficient"

😍😍
Quote by Savielly Tartakower:
"It is well-known that chess and music go well together, and many are those who have achieved unusual proficiency in both."

😍😍
Quote by Boris Spassky:
"A man who is willing to commit suicide has the initiative."

The last 3 quotes from Nimzowitsch,Tartakower and Spassky inspired me to try to make a sad chess story about Chester Bennington called "Chester plays his last black knight's tango`" or "Chester's life in 41 moves"

Unfortunately I have to inform all of my fans, who are desperatingly waiting for the release of this story, that this project was cancelled.

I will explain this in one of my next postings in this thread.

Quote by Vladimir Kramnik
"Chess is like body-building. If you train every day, you stay in top shape. It is the same with your brain - chess is a matter of daily training."

💪Bishop1964: I should definitely get more physical training. Eat less pizzas, drink less beer💪

Sorry for the following posting. If you don't like it, simply skip it.

I have always been a fan of Linkin Park, especially of Chester Bennington. (march 20, 1976 - july 20, 2017)

The last 3 quotes from Nimzowitsch,Tartakower and Spassky in the thread #21 inspired me to try to make a sad chess story about Chester Bennington called "Chester plays his last black knight's tango`" or "Chester's life in 41 moves".

I don't know if Chester played chess. But if you look at his name, I guess he did or at least he could have done.

I wanted to make a sad chess story which explains the backgrounds of his life, which was a tragedy form the beginning to end.

After doing all the research work on this project, i felt so depressed that I decided to abandon this project entirely.

I used the final scene of Blade runner in one of my postings in this thread. There were 2 sentences in this scene which are perfectly suited to describe the tragedy of Chester. I added the words in brackets.

"Quite an experience to live in fear (for the most part of your life), isn't it
That's what it is to be a slave (of your mind) "

Lyrics taken from one of his songs:
"he tried so hard, he came so far,
But in the end it doesn't even matter"

Quote by me:
After listening to all of his songs,
I feel so numb now,
After listening to all of his songs again,
I feel so dumb now
Why did you leave so early ?
I will miss you forever.

One of his fans wrote the following words in the comments to one of his songs.
"He screamed like a demon,
he sang like an angel,
he lived like a man,
he died like a legend"

Now I feel depressed a little bit more.

Part of the text in🤣...🤣 was already posted somewhere else in the forum.

Only copied in this thread to make sure that it doesn't get lost.

🤣🤣🤣
Mikhail Tal had a cousin with the name Mikhail Talowitsch. I guess that nobody knows this :

I have studied the life and theories of one of the greatest mathematicians of the 20th century. Mikhail Talowitsch.

This man was also famous for being able to run through dark forests on narrow trails.

But it seems that he wasn't a very nice person.

According to unconfirmed rumors, a lot of his adversaries who openly dared challenge his dubious mathematical theories, got lost on those trails, because they were not able to follow him.

One of his most famous quotes was:
"You must take your opponent into a deep dark forest where 2+2=5, and the path leading out is only wide enough for one"
🤣🤣🤣

Idioms with the word "loose"

1. Loose pieces drop off (the chessboard easily)

2. Loose lips sink ships

3. Loose fingers lose friends(hips) , 🎭 Dedicated to all writers 🎭
I guess that I finally have found the best thread on LiChess which was ever created.
No negativity there, only joy and positivity.

Ways to say fairwell after a game of chess:

Twas a joy.
I'm touched.
I'm still smiling.
An enlightening game.
That was a learning experience.
Nice challenging positions.
Ah, it's over, Goodbye!
Wow, what a game.
Now that took character.
Yeah, another milestone.
I can live with that.
That was effective.
That was a tough one.
That was mind-blowing.
What a roller-coaster, that was.
Cheers, it's over.
Ah, I'm back to my comfort zone.
I'm still here.
No hard feelings. :)
Well done.
To say the least, my respects, take care.

Instead of words, maybe a smiley gif :) hand shake.
