Max time spent playing

its not about the gaming freaks. That's exactly the point. Its about how this information is easily available on the profile page. If users have the option to not display it, then most people won't be motivated or capable of extracting it from the lichess database, making it essentially 'invisible' to the general public.

Nearly everyone understands that all games are available and that the data could be downloaded and analyzed to determine the total playing time even if it were removed, but this requires some expertise in database manipulation.

Well said. It would be nice the get a reply from Lichess this time.
There used to be a value in the profile: "Competion rate". Some day, a couple of weeks ago, it was gone. No real explanation, just "the information is unnecessary". It seemed to be "necessary" about 8 years before that, though ... And for me it was not cempletely unnecessary, because after my opponent left the game without resigning, I liked to look up whether he makes a habit out of this.
Well, what I wanted to say: Ther should at least be a reason why my total playing time is necessary, whereas the completion rate is not. Still asking without "caring so much" ...
My thought is, if your time spent playing is “useless to know” to some players, then there should be an option to not include it at all on your profile. After all, what good is useless info?
