Did you guys disable the king vs king positions deliberately?
en.lichess.org/study/UfpJoHr7Any position that is king vs king no longer has moves enabled, or something along those lines.
That study is private, and in chess KvK is a draw, right?
FIDE rule 5.2.b:
"The game is drawn when a position has arisen in which neither player can
checkmate the opponent’s king with any series of legal moves. The game is said to
end in a ‘dead position’. This immediately ends the game, provided that the move
producing the position was legal."
KvK is such a 'dead position' so it is a draw. Simple as that.
It's a pedagogy thing. Some students need to see the battle of KvK simplified before seeing it in context with other pieces.
@thibault @calanthe - thx for the clarification of the rules :D
