Is it possible to play games with 40 moves additional time?

Hello.
Is there a way to add an additional time after 40 moves? Because it's very frustrating to loose on time a game when you are winning, just because the opponent didn't resign on a lost position ... it's just because you were thinking how to win, and after that, you play your moves very fast, but you still loose on time. Thus, with 40 moves additional time, it should be more fair. Thanks!
Lichess doesn't offer these time controls however you can play with increment which should prevent you from timing out. (e.g. play 3+3 instead of 5+0 and you can't really get flagged)
Given that OTB games have this time control, maybe it would be an interesting addition...
Yes for sure, because sometimes even with increment, it would be really great to have add time after 40 moves.... See, when you play 2+1, increments gives not too much...
Over the board is now with increment.
World Championship: "The time control for each game shall be: 100 minutes for the first 40 moves, 50 minutes for the next 20 moves and then 15 minutes for the rest of the game plus an additional 30 seconds per move starting from move 1."
Increment is really good and prevents a lot of disputes around flagging.
How about something new and unique? Three different time pressures. Time the phases of the game. As a phase of the game is completed, it could give new time controls for the next phase.

Example 1: Opening phase 1 minutes, middle phase 2 minutes , and end game 3 minutes.

Example 2: Start the game with 10 moves in 1 minute, if attained then 20 moves in 2 minutes. Once attained 3 minutes to finish the game.
Yes some OTB tourns have something like X moves on Y time and after that the whole game on Z time. Could be interesting to introduce.
