I'm not sure people are really getting how big an ask it is for Nepo to pick up 3.5 / 4 points - I stuck it into an online calculator and just based on their relative ELOs it gave him a 0.5% chance, but that's without accounting for the fact that Magnus has no incentive to take any risks at all and can just play to shut everything down. It's all very well to say that he should keep fighting, but in practice Nepo's chances seem basically negligible, and I can totally understand why he wouldn't want to put himself through four more days of intense pressure trying to do something that's essentially impossible.
