Thoughts

Tactics. Compared to the previous game, more of Petrosian's moves seem tricky and require precise calculation.

Playing both sides of the board. Petrosian's queenside pawn advances enable a kingside attack with his pieces.

Waiting to exploit structural weaknesses. The outpost on d5 is created by Portisch on move 6 and not occupied by Petrosian until move 27. White seeks to create other weaknesses knowing that it will still be there when he wants to use it.
