World chess championship. Magnus Vs Anand

Thanks Rj. The HD quality video stems from the official FIDE website dedicated to the match: http://www.sochi2014.fide.com/ Click on the MENU – MATCH – video archive. All the previous videos are also there including the press conf. -> Svidler is amazing, the way he thinks, and all the 3 games were absolutely fascinating. Although there is a lot home preparation job behind them. And I believe much team work too. Nowadays such theoretical discoveries are made by teams actually, not the rivalling players themselves. Though Vishi Anand admitted that he spent a whole day preparing the line he played with Magnus in the 3d game. Magnus stepped on the way of a running train – he had no chance. Even computer analysis doesn’t show clearly where he made a mistake. Most of his moves were theoretical and reasonable, besides his move Ba5 at the end, but also without that move he already had a position you’d not want to have. He was visibly upset at the press conf. I never saw him such, his voice was trembling hehe, still he is one of the psychologically most stable players that I know. There might be another reason for him to lose some self-confidence, namely that he will soon be no longer number one on the world rating list, Caruana is breathing on the back of his neck and thus he will not be able to beat the Kasparov’s record who stayed number one for more than 20 years.
