Welcome to the Second Life Chess Community forum!
Only members of the team can post here, but everybody can read.
Hallo SLers,

let me give the new lichessers some useful tipps. This is what you can do:

1) enlarge and adjust the board by pressing “ctrl plus”. CTRL +. The board is too small by default.
2) Change the background color (theming) to black, and the board color to white/blue-grey.
3) Remove the greenglow move highlights in the preferences – they can be quite irritating. To compensate that increase the smooth move in the preferences and set it to the slowest maximum – this way you will see where the piece has moved.

This group is useful and simple means to see who is online. In addition to that through this group you have easy access to the ratings of all members, which we don’t have in SL. The ratings on the TTchess.tk cannot be taken seriously. Finally we can all get rated here and the rating system is just fine. Those of you who have places in SL, chess clubs of just clubs whatever they are, may think of lichess as way to promote your chess clubs in SL. How many ppl do visit those? 5 to 10 ppl per day maybe…. Here are thousands of ppl online every day. Watch this: lichess.org/world-map. A typical way for a chess coach to promote his own services would be to get a decent score, like 2400 and offer chess lessons on that basis ;) I have seen many such profiles on lichess already.

My function here is modest. The group is totally open for everyone and not censured. I am not what it says a “team leader”. I watch that the ToS of lichess.org are obeyed in the forum, which means “be nice to each other” and that members names can be validated in SL. That’s all. Time goes and flows. Perhaps tomorrow we will forget about this group. But at this point it’s fun to be member here, and on lichess in general, and it makes a lot of sense. At last we have a forum where all can say what they have to say and those postings will not disappear after two weeks.

Enjoy lichess and the group.

My pleasure, and thank you, Natasha. Nods in acknowledgement of Natasha’s contribution. Natasha has done a great job inviting people here.
haha
thank you, Natasha!
the top 50 begins for 960 at 2000. I was there the days before yesterday. The question is why so low? It probably has to do with the fact that nerds get attracted by those amature and not conventional variants of chess like "King of the hill" "The 3 checks". It's harder to find an opponent for 960 than for the standard variant. And those who play 960 at 2000 level are already very strong. I saw a Russian candidate master here who plays almost only 960 and suffers at around 1950.
i guess i was lucky yesterday to get that high. next time they will bust my head, those sharks. nothing is easier here than to lose a 100 points within minutes
lol
