I accidentally left chat on during a session, and just got a torrent of abuse from someone I declined a rematch from - this is after I had resigned to them, after blundering a piece.
I personally don't care about playing the same person again, no matter what the result of the game. I want to play another game, or not - I just don't care about getting payback for losing or trying to "adopt" people or whatever.
There seem to be so many people who think you owe them endless rematches until they win a game, or, like the thing I just had, just think you just owe them a rematch for....whatever reason. One of the best things about tournaments is there is none of this - you finish, boom, you get paired with someone else. If they would just move on with life if you decline, that would be one thing, but some of them start spamming you with requests, or verbal abuse.
It would be nice if we could turn renatches off to just avoid these unpleasant players altogether, like we can with takeback abusers.
