How to be streamer without smartphone two factor auth?

@weisserpfeffer Twitch offers 2FA by SMS as well as Authy's Desktop app:

> "Authy provides 2FA via their iOS, Android and Desktop apps as well as SMS texts"
from: help.twitch.tv/s/article/authy-faq?language=en_US

I also read this:
> "If you do not have an authentication app you will need to download one from your phones respective app store. You may also opt to use SMS as an authenticator if you are unable to use an authenticator app."
from: help.twitch.tv/s/article/two-factor-authentication?language=en_US
@pepellou hey, a reply from my favourite streamer, thank you!

But I was talking about the lichess 2FA, not the twitch 2FA.
(my fault the information was missing, I made the question a little to short when editing it)
The lichess 2FA is currently optional (but recommended.)

If you don't enable it, you might get a reminder every 10th day or something, to enable it.
@TBest thanks. Still unanswered: is it possible without a smartphone? if not why is that, on twitch it works perfectly fine with various different options, why not here?
@weisserpfeffer In #3, pepellou did mention a non-smartphone way: Authy can run on your computer, and it's usable with the Lichess 2FA. (He mentioned it in Twitch context, but it works for Lichess, too!)
It doesn't mention Authy because Authy is just one implementation of the general 2FA method that we use. You will see this on the page though:

> If you cannot scan the code, enter the secret [blacked out text that you can select and copy-paste] into your app.

And this is something you can put in Authy.
