Lichess Puzzle Tournament

With the puzzles here at lichess being so wildly popular, a Puzzle Tournament would be a smashing success !

Members could submit puzzles for consideration, with various themes as mates in 3; find the winning move, find the drawing move for Black. etc.

Formatting a tournament is the challenge. A suggestion is to solve 10 puzzles. The winner is the 1st solver to complete all 10. A wrong guess and the puzzle remains "frozen" for 10 seconds before another guess can be made. After correctly solving 1 puzzle, the next puzzle is presented.

Other suggestions? I'm sure the Tournament would draw a lot of attention. It's a matter of a developer and a few volunteers to organize such an event.

I don't think puzzles should be rushed nor should they be made in to a competition. You should savour each position and really try and find the truth of it. I would say, on average I spend about 30 minutes on each puzzle I complete on here. I like to see everything though, calculating all possible lines to exhaustion but then I am what some might call a chess purist.

Also how would you prevent cheating?

1463 hours on puzzles in 6+ months = 8 hours a day. More of your complete BS that is not believed for a second. This pounding of your chest in every post of yours is boring. How to prevent cheating? I won't dignify your continued stalking of my threads with a response to your foolish question.

There is a long history, tradition of puzzle competitions. I made a suggestion on the slight chance it might interest someone to develop such a contest/tournament. I'm fully aware it requires much work and time, but maybe sometime in the future.

Why not Puzzle Arena Tournament?

I will add an average rating of puzzle.
Like Puzzle Arena average ~1500, ~1750, ~2000, ~2200 and higher.

For example: 60 min tournament and puzzle average ~2000.

With standard Arena rules:
0 for bad answer
+2 for good answer
+4 for good answer in row
You can start anytime and withdraw anytime.

There must be a "penalty" of some kind for wrong answers, other wise solvers will just start guessing straight away. I suggested the puzzle would "freeze" for a given amount of time, but losing points would also work.
The suggestion requires quite a bit of new programming, but it would not interfere with or require changes to existing code.
A major criteria is would a Puzzle tournament be something that a majority of members would like to see happen? Apparently not, as there has been little response to the thread.
