Hey everyone. So I've noticed that the Puzzle of the Day never gives points if you solve it correctly. What's up with that? Even if it's one I've never seen before, I get nothing.

Most likely because it is hard to register when a puzzle has been played. If they gave point people could just continuously play the puzzle, gaining points. Also they are usually (always) very easy.
What @nattramnms said. One of the ways that we got rid of the 10k puzzle limit was to no longer track which puzzles have been played. Because of that you can only receive points for the puzzles that have been assigned to you when playing at /training
