lichess fingerprinting

hi, is there any reason why lichess is using such an obtrusive/aggressive javascript (cdn.jsdelivr.net/fingerprintjs2/0.7/fingerprint2.min.js)?

DNT, flash/unity, system fonts, canvas, cache size detection... ? all its missing is a cpu microcode profiling to go full NSA... :)

If you are a registered user, your IP address and your user-agent linked to your profile. Lichess makes use of “fingerprinting” technology similar to github.com/Valve/fingerprintjs2.

The specific fingerprint information is not visible to any user, including the moderators. Moderators can only see the word “print” in their “mod-zone” (should the user have multiple accounts): it aids moderators to determine if a certain user is creating multiple accounts.

Unfortunately that file fingerprint2.min.js is blocked by our firewall so lichess hangs
