Premove why do I lose time?

If I premove several seconds before my opponent moves why do I lose time? This itself does not make any sense whatsoever with the concept of premove, I am OK with losing time due to ping, but I doubt I have several seconds of delay with the site, something looks odd here.

I've noticed recently this issue. I dunno if its true but it just seems the moves are a lot laggier than they used to be.

I noticed the lag issue against only some opponents. I guess it matters where my opponent is located and where i'm located? Where is the chess server?

I've noticed this too. It's quite annoying when you're beating a strong player higher rated than you and then you lose on time because of the lag/ping.

What does premove enabled mean?

It mans whatever they go, you move there.
it's an easy way to save time if you can predict the opponent's move.
but basically it's just "moving" your piece ahead of time.
