Ranks/Leaderboards by country (Feature Suggestion)

I wish there was a way to see the top ranks for each country. Populating a full top 200 would be ideal, but even just seeing the flags in the official top 200 would be an improvement. Right now you need to hover each name to see a flag, and it makes it very hard to find top players in your country. It's a feature I've always used and enjoy in other chess sites that shall remain unnamed. Doesn't sound too hard to implement, but I haven't seen how the current top 200s are calculated so it could be more complicated than I anticipate.
The problem is that users can fake their nationality to be the highest rated player in a country.
That is true, and I would expect there to be such cases. I don't think it would be too prevalent or that important of an issue though. From when I see ranks for my country in other websites, I do recognize the top players, except for one (among say the top 20), which probably is one such case. The list is still a good representation of top players there though, plus the benefit of giving those who indeed are there a nice sense of accomplishment.
The other problem is that some players very strongly care which country another player is from.
People feeling strongly about where a player is from is it's own problem, yes. I don't see ehat that has to do with leaderboards though. Country is already a part of a user's profile which anyone can see. I just want to be able to filter leaderboards based on it. Or do you mean to imply people would be looking to harrass etc. top players specifically after looking them up in such a list?
