Cheating policy, refund points and "chess etiquette"

Ok, so yesterday I published a post in which I pointed out that I lost a game to someone who happened to be a cheater. After analyzing quite deeply the game, I thought that indeed there was a very high risk of him being a cheater, that's why I reported him. I was informed the person whom I reported was banned due to cheating but I didn't get any of my rating points back. Instead, I received a few minutes ago lichess informed me that my post was deleted and that I received a warning for shaming, claiming that it was against "chess etiquette". First of all, and I know it will be a controversial viewpoint, but I do consider that cheating is morally wrong; when someone does something nasty to you, I don't really understand why this person should be untouched while you have the obligation of staying put. Second, even though I do have these personal opinions, contrarily to what I was accused of, I did not shame this person at all, never insulted him, never even mentioning his name in the core text of this message, merely arguing that I encountered more and more cheaters, which did impede my joy to play the game while gently asking if I could have my rating back. Third, the way I mentioned at all the person was by sharing the link of my game so that everyone could see it was no doubt that this person cheated and I wasn't blindly accusing someone or no one for that matter; I had proof of what I advanced. Please lichess, punish the cheaters, not the players who try to enjoy the game, you're really doing something wrong here. PS: Anyone know the name of a moderator so that I can have this injustice fixed as soon as possible?

Thanks for the quick answer, that's very nice of you. As I said, I already reported the person via the adequate form before posting my first message then he got banned because of cheat but I didn't get my elo back, then I cryed out loud as your pseudo says ^^. I did not want to shame him in any ways nor did I (though once again, one may argue he would have deserved it), I simply put the link of my game so that I could seek help. The rating refund page which you are sending me a link to does not have a form to claim lost elo, so I guess the only way I have to appeal is to contact a moderator.

the rating refund page(lichess.org/faq#rating-refund) says
"When am I eligible for the automatic rating refund from cheaters?
One minute after a player is marked, their 40 latest rated games in the last 3 days are taken. If you are their opponent in those games, you lost rating (because of a loss or a draw), and your rating was not provisional, you get a rating refund. The refund is capped based on your peak rating and your rating progress after the game.
(For example, if your rating greatly increased after those games, you might get no refund or only a partial refund.) A refund will never exceed 150 points."-lichess

all matters regarding cheating and bans can only be talked aobut diretly with lichess else they close the topic

If you wish to clear that up you must use lichess.org/appeal#help-clean-warning and they wil respond to you there and only there

Then I don't see why I'm not eligible for that. The refund is only 10 points, I only gained 4 elo since that loss, I have played more than enough games to be eligible for the refund and I was his last but one classical game. By the way, if I dare ask, why only the last 40 latest rated games and last 3 days if you have solid proof of cheating in these games?
> I was his last but one classical game.

it is "40 latest rated games" and not "40 latest rated games of each specific time control and variant".

> By the way, if I dare ask, why only the last 40 latest rated games and last 3 days if you have solid proof of cheating in these games?

the refunds are automatic. you seem to be under the impression that someone is deliberating for each single game whether someone cheated in it or not. that is not what is happening. the 40 games and 3 days are (almost) completely arbitrary.

that is why i personally think the refunds should be stopped completely. they're useless anyway, just feed the idea that some people have that rating points is something that they earn and deserve, like a currency.

You reported a player and Lichess took action. Then you proceeded to violate one of our rules and we also took action.
The post was deleted because it contained the username and the link to the game, which leads to public shaming. As pointed out by #2, that is not allowed.
Your question could be formulated without the need of letting the public know who the person banned is. Besides, your question is already answered in the faqs, as several users pointed out already.

The reason why you did not receive a refund is because you gained more points than the points lost the against the player before they got marked.

> Anyone know the name of a moderator so that I can have this injustice fixed as soon as possible?

There is no injustice at all. You violated a rule of our etiquette and your post was deleted accordingly.

> The rating refund page which you are sending me a link to does not have a form to claim lost elo, so I guess the only way I have to appeal is to contact a moderator.

That is because nobody can manually add rating points to an account for any reason. lichess.org/appeal specifically says you should not try to contact a moderator for any (private) inquiry at all.
The reasons for the deletion of the previous post are already shared in this post, however you may still file an appeal if you wish.
