After searching the forums, I might need to start a new thread but... I am running Android 6.0.1 on a Nexus 5X. I love the dark theme on mobile (and desktop), and I noticed that I was not getting notifications for my correspondence games. But my dad who has the same phone as me said he was getting notifications. I looked at his app and he had the light theme on. So I switched back from dark to light theme and I started getting notifications. I love the dark theme, but need my notifications. Hopefully this helps with the development of the app.
