Vacation time

I'd be pretty annoyed if my opponent was able to disregard his time limit.

The sensible way to implement this is to offer players (and event organisers) the option of allowing vacation or not allowing vacation, in the same way that time controls are selected. That will keep everyone happy. We all know that many correspondence players want nothing to do with vacation.

I would be delighted to see it implemented. The reason I don't play correspondence on this site is the lack of vacation.
Isn't vacation time on chess.com mainly a ruse to get people onto premium memberships (like they start to rely on it then run out of days and buy more days as part of their premium membership). I think that's why I started paying chess, com back in the day I didn't know better and didn't play chess every day like I do now.
Interesting but whenever I have gone on vacation I have always had hotels with wifi connection and a laptop with me, so I have not had a problem getting internet.

What might be a useful feature is a secondary clock for correspondence games such that when your "delay" clock runs out, the other clock starts ticking down. Essentially yes, a delay clock just with a very long time period.

That would work well for those who cannot be online for a period of days for various reasons (e.g. Jewish festivals where it is not permitted to use computers except in emergencies - that means hospitals etc. Playing chess is not considered an emergency)
