Why is this feature limited to just games? I imagine it would be pretty simple to add to puzzles as well. For me it would be extremely helpful, as I actually use this feature coupled with dictation software to dictate chess moves (I have nerve damage in my arms).
Seems reasonable to me. Lichess strives to be accessible in other areas.
I believe kdawghomie is talking about the "Input moves with the keyboard" preference, not the browser plug-in.

Yes, not any special browser plug-in. Just the normal built-in feature. Seems like the sort of task that would only take a few hours to implement.
The developers are already tracking this issue.
