As a person, who was used to be coding on public request a lot, i am deeply impressed by your continuous commitment to this chess site. While your personal playing level seems to be rather close to "untrained", you did kick off a site that is very well regarded and cherished throughout the world. And you are - by the ways, this gets administered and developed - encouraging more and more players to make use of its conveniently offered features.
No miracle, that even Magnus is coming here!
While i still had an income, i was willing (and able) to spend money for this sort of services (on ICC - at the time) and i feel like you "deserve" to earn recognition in any way possible. The "politics" on ICC drove me away in disgust, and lichess doesnt show any weird behaviors at all. Maybe, the idea to not ask for a payment is in fact helping to "keep it clean"?
Lately, i came across "suggestions to improve" this service, but after thinking over them, i am not convinced anymore, the ratio of improved value for its users/additional endeavors for the dev+adm-teams would turn out to be that inviting at all.
Leaves me with this:
"You are doing an excellent job at providing pleasure to the (chess-playing) people of this world, in a scientificly skillful, continuously committed, up-to-date fashion while keeping high spirits and excellent morale, really showing LOVE, which seems to be missing so much on this planet."
Please, please keep it up! You are the hero of lichess, and (symbolicly) i bow down in front of your work!
One, who got old, weak, sick, and slow over time... but still enjoys our royal game from time to time. :-)
