Especially now that pools are gone (maybe they should be brought back, lichess being more popular now?), the only way to get games with random colour pairings (apart from issuing the seek yourself) is to visually scan the game list for random colour seeks. Couldn't the filter do this for me, only showing the random colour seeks?
Tournaments replace the pools. They *are* pairing pools, except with a limited duration. Try one out!
they are a different kettle of pairing fish though. :-)
A traditional pool tries to pair you with a more or less matching opponent rating-wise while in a tournament pool you get to play somebody never mind his/her rating.
I like both approaches but tournaments don't really "replace" a pool IMHO.
Actually, the tournament will A) Pair you someone with near rank (within the tournament) and B) Pair you against someone of level rating.
