More custom tournament time controls

I kind of get where "round robin" desire comes from; it's fun to play different opponents every game. IIRC there's a server performance concern with trying to implement "don't let me play the same opponent twice in the same tournament".

I don't understand why people want Swiss events (as opposed to simply having custom tournaments disable "go berserk" to discourage opponents from blitzing all their moves).

I've still been trying to fix my dev instance so I can submit a patch for 10+5 custom tournaments.
Thanks PhillipTheTank for the explanation.
But at least +1 second increment for most of official tournaments would be useful. I don't think it will bring any issues with cheating or ...
I just learned that for private tournaments, you can have up to 60+60.
Hi @PhillipTheTank: how is cheating made easier by longer games and swiss tournaments? What is that makes it out of control for moderators? I would have thought: shorter games -> more games -> more things to control. I ask because you look to know more than me on the subject and I am sure I am missing something

I was wondering on tournament formats here (lichess.org/forum/lichess-feedback/tournaments-formats#1) but nobody replied as if there was no interest among the community. But I keep finding more and more comments scattered across the forum asking to introduce longer games or swiss tournaments. Is there any chance to put them back or is it hopeless?
