Well shared. Given that preferences is not strategic developper solution to look at first for all the existing features, it might help if you could explain a bit in which context.
For me, it is only for being able to work and manage my correspondance gaming time chunks AND the possibility to have deep learn from you mistake feedback that this would allow. Well, maybe it would need some extra persistence features for me actually for that last part. but at least from one thinking sessions to the next no need to redo partial work.
i shoud admit though that sometimes i also have that old reflex of wanting to clear my head of past attempts, and usually i could just do bact to game or reload (less clean btw). Now, one has to remember this does not work anymore, and instead there is a double mouse event to clear the active user variations subtree from current position.
any new feature that changes where the same effect would happen gets to be obtained will feel an annoyance at reflex expectation.. i did have that.. after a few days, i will have gotten used to the 2 click sequence.. (might be improve by being a 1 click button.... but maybe the 2 click is mouse slip protection....
it is not like the previous behavior can't be obtained, it is that it is not obtained from the same user mouse events.. just quitting the tab won't do it. etc.... new habits... I have seen worst changes in lichess where some features were not there at all anymore... as recently as month ago. There is no way to get that information back. it has not even been reimplemented or compensated in the forum landing page.... That is not the same kind of change is it.. you still can get desired result.
Did I understand the nature of the annoyance?
my contrasting annoyance: i trust that while not a priority lichess will find a way to get back the equivalent of the function that the amputation took out... i guess patience with oneself and with lichess might help.
