At the start you build your set of puzzles.
You can customize (among others) the difficulty level, theme and number of tactical puzzles you want to practice.
For example: 1000 tactics, 700 beginner tactics and 300 intermediate. With 500/1000 backrank tactics and 150/1000 mate puzzles.
Then Lichess generates a set of puzzles from the Lichess tactics database.
While you solve the set, Lichess measures the total time spent on the set so far and accuracy of your solutions.
The time and accuracy are displayed in an overview which lets you track your progression after multiple loops.
Then you can repeat on the same set.
