Automatic leave detection feature punishes connection losses

Very informative, thanks for the insight. And you make a fair point, @Snuffington about wanting to play and not sit around, waiting for the other player. However, in longer games, you sometimes have to wait much longer for your opponent to think and make a move. Of course, in that case you can be pretty sure that he is still playing, but in the case of a connection loss, there's also a chance that the player is desperately trying to get back into the game.

The idea for the computer to check the position was meant to help differentiate between ragequitters and connection losers, but again I understand why it would likely not be a good idea.
