I did not leave the game. After two moves, the board froze for a few seconds and then it just said that I left (?!). In the chat displayed the message "Warning odxn, leaving too many games will result in a temporary ban" or something to that effect, even though I stayed put throughout the game.

Connection loss would normally start a 2-minute timer before the opponent can claim. Here the opponent claimed only 15 seconds after white's last move so it must have been the 10-second ragequit timer.
Note that there were two reasons you lost: one was that something made the server think your deliberately disconnected (e.g. by closing the tab), and the other was that your opponent chose to take the win within seconds of being presented with the opportunity rather than wait for you to possibly reconnect and continue the game.

I didn't close the tab.
I don't know anything about the technicals but sounds to me that one tab froze and others were open so Lichess detected it as if a tab was closed.
