What makes a thing funny?

I know. I am just curious what others think is funny. I laugh with them, but it is unbelievably hard to watch what others do all time.

Yeah, I know. What do you define as humorous?

Yes, I try. It really is I do not understand the deeper meaning the way others may do.

For the dumb ones there are a lot, but in general, when people fall onto the ground, or hurt themselves, or do something negatively affecting them, I really have to laugh. I do not know if this really is funniness, or just laughing at other people's faults, and I feel guilty to do so, but whatever...

And for the not calculated part, I think it is more surprising, than funny, but in general, if you get some positive things when you expected to get negative ones. Like, if you lose 100 dollars, but find a 200 dollar bill while searching for the 100. Then I need to laugh/rather smile, too. But I regret laughing, too, (or at least think it is stupid to do so), because there really is nothing to laugh about.

Clearly it is not your description that makes a thing funny.

Things are funny if one understands.
But if one trees to find logic in it, one becomes stupid as such things don't actually have any logic but random fun in form of joke or sarcasm.

I've heard that people think something is funny, because a joke (or what ever that funny thing may be) makes our brain use "thinking" energy, and afterwards we (our brain) realizes, that this was just wasted time and thinks that is funny.
With other words: Your brain pulls a joke on you, when you laugh at a joke.

There's nothing 'wrong' in being different. If your friends are shallow that's fine not to laugh ,maybe it'll make them see how shallow they are xxx
