On AI, and Bloodthirsty Eyes of the Night

Until today, I had never given practical applications of AI much thought-- it seemed to be merely a thing for boring people to argue about while I ate cheese and somberly listened.

Today, though, during a conversation about the awful TV show Shadowhunters, I was struck by sudden inspiration-- I could use it to solve a question that has vexed mankind for centuries! To wit: "In a computer simulation of a world in which Taylor Swift teamed up with NWOBHM icons Venom and Satan to write a song about lemurs, what would be the lyrics of the aforementioned song?"

I hurried to my computer-- mid-conversation, mind you-- and immediately opened up the first or second link that appeared when googling "ai lyrics generator". And, thanks to that site, we now know what that song would be. And it would be fucking glorious.

I present to you, in full, unedited glory, "Bloodthirsty Eyes of the Night" by a computer imitating Taylor Swift, Venom, and Satan:

(Verse 1)
In the shadows they lurk, with fire in their gaze
Lemurs of the night, their presence sets ablaze
Unholy creatures, with mischief in their souls
Bathed in moonlight, their wickedness unfolds

(Chorus)
Bloodthirsty eyes of the night, lemurs ready to strike
Darkness cloaks their every move, under the full moon's light
Savage souls in the trees, dancing in twilight
Bloodthirsty eyes of the night, lemurs taking flight

(Verse 2)

Their claws sharp as steel, their fur a dark abyss
Silent hunters of the night, their prey they never miss
Whispers in the darkness, as they hunt their prey
Lemurs of the night, ready to slay

(Chorus)

Bloodthirsty eyes of the night, lemurs ready to strike
Darkness cloaks their every move, under the full moon's light
Savage souls in the trees, dancing in twilight
Bloodthirsty eyes of the night, lemurs taking flight

(Bridge)

Beware the shadows where they dwell
Lords of the night, their power will swell
No mercy in their hearts, only primal might
Bloodthirsty eyes of the night, lemurs in the moonlight

(Chorus)

Bloodthirsty eyes of the night, lemurs ready to strike
Darkness cloaks their every move, under the full moon's light
Savage souls in the trees, dancing in twilight
Bloodthirsty eyes of the night, lemurs taking flight

**Bloodthirsty Eyes of the Night: Outro**

In the realm of darkness, they reign supreme
Bloodthirsty eyes of the night, lemurs of your dreams
After a day's reflection, I think we should all take time to marvel at how well the AI managed to capture that signature Taylor Swift feel. I can just see the bloodthirsty lemurs wearing short skirts whilst captaining the cheer team.

EDIT: No, I am NOT on drugs. This is what happens when clients fail to show up to business meetings with clousems

I'm a financial representative for a Fortune 500 company :D
I talked about it recently: AI does not create, does not invent in what we humans call “inventing”.

- Any AI have an immense database with billions of possibilities. the AI works in a tree-like manner and will look for what it needs in existing human works of art.

- Taylor Swift songs and lyrics are available on the internet, so the AI has an idea of certain stylistic recurrence. moreover, precise keywords allow the AI to have a smaller field of possibilities and therefore more credible, even if it is at the antipodes (Taylor Swift and the theme of hell).

So it is not a danger for artists in the sense that it does not threaten the creative processes, since AI can only use things that already exist to renew them. BUT AI greatly threatens notions of intellectual property and makes us think about what we can put on the internet or not. maybe somewhere in the world, someone posted on a social network an idea or lyrics for a song in the style of Taylor Swift but about hell and lemurs.

AI is a useful resource but with limitations.
