Is Lichess.org slowly becoming Chess.com? =(

Dunno.
I've never been to chess.com so I don't know how people are there, so I can't really say if lichess is becoming chess.com.

But lichess was certainly better when users could play anons AND when you could use the chat as an anon.

Would somebody dare to explain what the backstory is? I'm not on reddit, so I'm completely clueless.
A lot of people are converting, unfortunately it can't be cherry picked who gets converted. You're gonna get the bad with the good.

That being said I think lichess remains the more friendly environment, the openness of the site sets a precedence for the minds of its users.

I wonder if they'll ever feel forced enough to monetize this site, and then it really will be like chesscom, hopefully that doesn't happen.
Left Chess.com years ago because of how offensive people were in the notes they posted on others profiles.
Yeah I started out at chess.com but people kept on writing rude notes to me especially this one person I dissed them back ( not swearing or bad language) but it got to annoying especially when you don't accept rematches and I quit the site after a while
never had a problem like that on chess.com but Ive seen some rude notes on some peoples walls. but i might leave chess.com too because too many bugs/lags and it lacks some features but so does lichess.
we moderate people who continuously swear or insult people.
and most often they remain muted.
