Is 4...bd6 in Abasov's Game Book?

It‘s theory. I have prepared this line against an opponent with white in Jan. Actually chess is concrete, you cannot judge positions by means of golden rules which are meant for beginners.

By the way, I intended to play the shocker 4.d4!! It can be taken in 3 different ways.
Still on the Abasov game, we can all identify with his blunder at the end. On the face of it, it makes good strategic sense to trade down with 34...Bxb3, probably ending up with a 2v2 symmetrical pawn structure on the kingside once the weak pawns on the queenside drop off, and that would guarantee a creditable draw with the black pieces against Fabi.
Unfortunately the tactics rule it out: the trade allows White's a1 rook to come into the game via f1, and then Black's just getting killed immediately down the f-file.
It's the sort of mistake average players make every day, and for an elite GM to do it in the most important tournament of his career just confirms that we're all human.
