Carlsen is afraid

Considering the fact that immediately after the game he notified us that he might not be interested to defend his title, it probably meant that he was actually not motivated instead of 'scared', if his public notification of his lack of interest to defend his title was straight of nepo winning the candidates then I would agree that he might be scared, however its not likely that someone 2864 would lose to someone not even 2800 rated

agreed
I don't like Ling, because he makes a lot of excuses. Whenever he loses, he blames it on jet lag, a sleepless night, argument with his girlfriend, not enough prep time, etc, etc. Its never because his opponent was better that day. The entire CCP will be making excuses if he loses to Nepo. The lighting wasn't good. My back hurt. The russians are cheating. He's like another fischer, but 100 times worse. Hope Nepo crushes him.

I know right, this dude ling seems to be very good at making excuses, but how is ling relevant to this conversation?
Never trust a Ling they're known to be cheap, vicious, and spawn in pairs!

Bored to defend? Lol!
A reigning player of any sport has to defend their title and it is about pride cause ultimate title is at stake.
Even though he's not scared, he made terrible decision to pull out. Backing out is against the spirit of any game. There's nothing like choosing opponent in a competition and it's seriously unacceptable. FIDE should take some action against him.
