That's true in this possition, however on move 38 here is critical move with gives a advantage, it is not exchanging bishops and instead take the pawn with your bishop, after looking up at stockfish
You can use bishop as a shield for rook checks and if blacks bishop is a issue when exchange it, I think it is quite higher level endgame with I don't have skills to fully understand
