Out "today" ?
Did I merely imagine that the book sits nicely in my Kindle, and that I have already read 40 percent of it?
According to my Kindle, I bought it before November 15, and I believe I eyed it for a few days before drinking those beers and deciding that I had to add it to my library.
No, that's a lie: drinking didn't induce or self-justify the purchase. Chess book purchase is my vice. My port in a storm. My secret shame.
At least this book didn't compound my shame: it's interesting, on point, and I've already read much more of it than most of my other acquired chess books.
Furthermore, it's much more well-written than some I could name. But won't. Since actually managing to write a chess book is a worthy accomplishment that I respect and would never belittle, even if the resulting creation be much-less-well-written than this one.
This is a chess book that I think I will actually finish. Unlike most. Indeed, I like it.
