Atomic is a very fun variant but too much can sometimes be bad for your chess health.

Atomic is a quite interesting variant. To win you got to capture ( or nuke as it is called ) a piece near the opponent's king. It was very popular back in 2015 but after they found out that Atomic is not losing for white if played correctly , a lot of good players quit the variant. But as of today , around 10 000 people play it on lichess.
Why is atomic bad?
Atomic is bad only if you play it for a long period of time without refreshing your normal chess skills. That is because in Atomic the playing pattern is very different than that of classical chess.
