Who the heck are those guys you name user-created tournaments after? Can it be named after great past & present players instead?

Lemuel_Gulliver, you made that hell of work inputing 1000 strings into excel, and now you have to rework everything again to another format? I am really sorry for your time, dude. But that is not your mistake, somebody from lichess staff should guide you before you start doing it. Just do not give up now, and finish your mission. I find this improvement useful.
@Hellball - No, the tournament list contains cities (where famous tournaments were held), and I heartily hope there's no copyright on that - it would sound strange if it is, to say the least. The only exception is A.V.R.O. tournament, but since it's practically replaced by TATA steel nowadays as far as I know, I believe copyright doesn't apply there as well.

@AI Level 9: I agree, a proper timely guide should have avoid any confusion about new-made list. Luckily I am reviewing all post just now, AFTER Chess_Agent replied to your post otherwise, otherwise I'd probably be much less optimistic at moment lol.
Thanks for your last sentence comment, I find it very encouraging, I hope others will find it useful, too.

@Chess_Agent (better late then never) - Thank you for the link, now THAT is helpfull indeed.
File saved in said format comes ASAP...
No list of notable Chess players can be complete without the likes of Fisher and Carlson ...
I'm pretty sure Fischer is represented.

I'm not sure about Carlsen, but he certainly should be.
Allright, files sent (two files this time, as there were 2 separate sheet on same excel worksheet, and they haveto be sent separately if they are saved in comma-delimited format) to lichess.contact@gmail.com moments ago.
Hope this time it shows up correctly when viewed.
I don't know - the random names, I think are refreshing. Why should specific names be touted - they're not sponsoring or connected in any way shape or form. For that reason - why not do weekly themed names - week 1 - Star Wars characters, week 2 - Elements of the periodic table....
#19 for one you'd need themed names for every week, and the effort Lemuel put into this is absolutely staggering... give the guy a break. :) Also, tournaments are regular enough that I think it's best if they have the names of chess masters.

Themed names might be more appropriate for the simuls, which currently use the names of stars.
chunkey, I agree with Hellball, themed names would be an interesting alternative for naming a simuls. But for naming an user-created chess tourneys, still naming them after chess players seems the most logical solution.
Even so, finding 999 related names wasn't too easy task - I had to move through chess history books, chess encyclopaedia, list of noted chess tournaments, new ELO top-100 list, problemists' pages... but it's finaly done (and to be implemented soon?...I hope)

@Hellball - thanks for your support of my idea, all the way; I apreciate it a lot.
