Make Horde Chess more balanced

i agree white has a large advantage, i think taking a random pawn or two from white at the start would do the trick though
Some players are better at managing the pieces than the pawns, and some vice versa. That can create a perceived imbalance for that player.

Because of this, I think it's also important to focus on the win rate statistics to help balance.

Does anyone think that black is overpowered? :-)
personally, I hate white. I can't sacrifice at the best of times.
It's getting to a point where people are playing as white, and refusing to play as black.
I have an idea that could possibly fix things, what if we made the pawns white and the pieces black? Thoughts?
If the pawns have the first move, it should greatly even the balance. I'm also not opposed to the back rank pawns moving two spaces on their first move.
ChessWhiz, I think Black is overpowered! But seriously, I'd like to challenge any of my viewers to "advanced horde chess" (unrated, slow time control) where I play Black and both players are allowed to use a computer. :-)

... but I'm too afraid of being labeled a computer so it probably won't happen on lichess. :-(
Just make it casual (not rated) and you'll be fine.
