  1. Queen_Blunder Let’s go jg!!!
  2. mysonnevercallme Go okei!
  3. Fudly Let's go okei!
  4. adande1 go okei!
  5. Queen_Blunder And we have the world’s most exciting opening line on the board
  6. Fudly Is that the caro kan?
  7. Queen_Blunder Exchange slav
  8. Fudly ah
  9. slamjam Gokei!
  10. Queen_Blunder All my teammates are asleep :(
  11. jg777 Looking for a normal game here. I’d like a little imbalance but not going to risk for it early on.
  12. jg777 I’m always an advocate to get my bishops outside my pawn chain but pretty sure the C8 bishop isn’t going out anytime soon.
  13. Queen_Blunder Yeah I think it has to stay defending b7 for the time being
  14. jg777 I’m considering Qb6 to free my C8 bishop; but it doesn’t truly feel right to me. My other consideration is Nh5 aiming for the bishop pair
  15. jg777 and the b8 square
  16. jg777 ultimately Nh5 seems the most objective move
  17. Queen_Blunder This is shaping up to be an interesting game
  18. Queen_Blunder White’s development is scary, but this bishops can make their presence felt long term
  19. mysonnevercallme 1.d4 may be a good opening but it can never be interesting
  20. jg777 f5 seems right... awkwardly.
  21. ErinYu Really unfun when you're playing an Exchange Slav and play both f6 and f5 by move 11.
  22. ErinYu I wonder if g4...
  23. mysonnevercallme 12.g4? or later?
  24. jg777 g4 g6... maybe not yet. Either way need to get some pieces into play.
  25. mysonnevercallme g4 g6? i don't see it. why not fxg4?
  26. Queen_Blunder Idk
  27. Queen_Blunder I get that it opens black up, but it is also tempo on the knight
  28. Queen_Blunder But these guys are higher rated than me and I suck at calculation
  29. slamjam Ke2!
  30. mysonnevercallme wow
  31. mysonnevercallme i was thinking the same
  32. jg777 Interesting ideas here but I need piece play, way to many pawn moves so far. I need three piece moves and then I’ll be content.
  33. Queen_Blunder Maybe 12.g4 fxg4 13.Nd2 and white gets the pawn back and has lots of threats with an open black king
  34. Queen_Blunder a3 feels slow
  35. Queen_Blunder Maybe black can start to organize now
  36. mysonnevercallme so white want to play Qc2
  37. jg777 I feel like move order is important. Bd6 allows 0-0, but open H file is a consideration. Bd6 seems good anyway though.
  38. Queen_Blunder Yeah 0-0 doesn’t feel super safe
  39. Queen_Blunder But neither does the center or queenside...
  40. mysonnevercallme the more i think about this position the more i feel white have to play e4 somehow. but thinking is not my strong suit so...
  41. jg777 this is likely a game where nobody castles...
  42. Queen_Blunder I think white may be able to wait and see what black commits to
  43. jg777 just need to get pieces into the game here...
  44. mysonnevercallme Nh4 looks very strong here after Bd7 i think
  45. Queen_Blunder Seems too soon for Kf1
  46. jg777 ok well that’s an interesting subtlety...
  47. jg777 I’m not committing my king just yet, going to hold that card for a bit.
  48. jg777 not unexpected. I was considering Rd8, but immediately or not is up for consideration..
  49. Queen_Blunder Rd8 really feels passive, or “curling up into a ball” as chessnetwork would put it
  50. Queen_Blunder But maybe it’s necessary
  51. jg777 I’m not comfortable with the queenside set up. I feel like the center need blown up to compensate. E5, for example. Shake it up.
  52. Queen_Blunder An interesting idea, but can black afford to open the center?
  53. jg777 e5 is a destabilizing move, I’m not sure my position is quite ready for.
  54. jg777 I just don’t like b7. But there’s an annoyance dealing with it defensively and I can’t find a suitable alternative yet.
  55. jg777 so far 0-0 is my best move/idea but it seems so lame.
  56. jg777 well may as well play it and punch the clock, nothing else is die omg my imagination here.
  57. jg777 Nb6 Rad8 is vanilla but I’m anticipating it, Nc5 I’ll give back with BxN, if Qb3 would be fun
  58. jg777 I need to get these minor pieces into play or trade it all off.
  59. jg777 suspecting g4 is the aim.
  60. mysonnevercallme ke2 here
  61. jg777 I’m trying to gamble and solve three issues (bishops, C file, h7-f5) at once; tends to have a flaw, but hopefully not.
  62. jg777 my idea was Bb5 here...
  63. okei i missed b4 first :(
  64. okei b4 nb5 a4 na7 a5! nb4 and i missed that my pawns are all defended now
  65. jg777 I’m not sold. Bb5 BxB RxR QxR NxB a4 looks difficult.
  66. okei maybe qxr ok
  67. mysonnevercallme who defends the f2 then
  68. mysonnevercallme oh u are thinking f4
  69. mysonnevercallme oh man white has time to defend the f2 even if fxg4
  70. jg777 reverse RxR QxR Rc8 (QxN Rc1 Ne1 Bb5 BxB fxg) night work.
  71. mysonnevercallme gg
  72. jg777 ROFL I totally missed Rf8... wowwwe. Brain fart.
  73. jg777 well that’s a terrible oversight to make. I think I’ve upped my blunders as the seasons gone on...
  74. mysonnevercallme w8 a minute. how white wants to solve bb5?
  75. mysonnevercallme oh that way
  76. jg777 I’m interested how I just added a rook on f8 in that line. Going to have to reflect on that...
  77. mysonnevercallme it happens man, don't worry about that
  78. jg777 nothing here to do, just no ammo whatsoever. Unfortunately a ruined position is just that.
  79. jg777 a bit annoying to take so much time and play so badly. I actually believe I play better when I move fast recently...
  80. Fudly Losing doesn't mean you played badly. It just means your opponent played better
  81. okei we got this ;)
  82. okei 8. Ne5 I'm sure he missed Bg4, and I'd have been worse immediately
  83. jg777 whatever let’s go get this done
  84. okei other than that, there was my mistake which led to his blunder
  85. okei i was completely wrong about move 8
  86. okei and about 19. b4. hmmm, so much for my analysis... so those were my two imagined mistakes
  87. okei hi Sky! and thanks for the support slamjam and everyone else
  88. okei basically I made no mistakes (Qh3 just wins so doesn't count)
  89. okei that's surprising
  90. okei oh, he does trap my bishop after Qh3 hmm, missed that
  91. okei anyways, I have too many pawns
  92. mysonnevercallme wow
  93. okei I really made no mistakes!
  94. mysonnevercallme feels good man
  95. okei lol yea, amazing!
