  1. glbert go sesquipedalism!
  2. Wahlkatalane I know 9...e4 is a thing but its such a long time ago that I had a look at it. Clever choice by my opponent.
  3. Wahlkatalane I think d4, fxg2, Qf3 were the main moves, unsure about the continuation tho.
  4. Wahlkatalane But apparently my opponent is out of book too, which is good news
  5. Wahlkatalane Not sure if I should have gone for a rook exchang followed by Bxf6 instead but Qe2 looked difficult
  6. Wahlkatalane Also, there should be something here
  7. VonSchamhorst I have faith in Wahlkatalane.
  8. MrScribbles Go sesq
  9. MrScribbles Does 21...Bg6 avoid catastrophe for Black?
  10. MrScribbles Then maybe 22.h4
  11. MrScribbles ...... ignore that last bit
  12. MrScribbles Oof. 22
  13. Slamchops GG!!
  14. MrScribbles Gg
  15. VonSchamhorst Gg
  16. Lukhas gg guys
  17. Sesquipedalism So you didn’t prepare 11.d4?
  18. Sesquipedalism It’s the best response but I find it difficult to spot over the board. Well done
  19. Sesquipedalism Pretty much every other line is a nightmare to hold as white
  20. Wahlkatalane I didnt, in fact I remembered it. I worked with a trainer some years ago (an opening specialist). He showed me the e4 sideline
  21. Wahlkatalane But not in much depth at least not that I recall.
  22. Wahlkatalane So I was out of book after 12.Qf3
  23. Wahlkatalane https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergej_Salov Great coach
  24. Sesquipedalism I was out of book at the same time
  25. Wahlkatalane I noticed and was relieved
  26. Wahlkatalane After 20...Lg6 there would have been much work left to be done
  27. Sesquipedalism Good call. I should have gone for that, I suppose
  28. Wahlkatalane Also, I was abit worried about 19...Bxe5 followed by Qd2, Qxb2, bxc3. But it turns out that I would have had checkmate.
  29. Wahlkatalane Anyway, spectacular game, I appreciate the sportsmanship in the end. See you around
