Tournament Rules and Guidelines:
-
Notification and Safety:
- Participants will be notified when the tournament begins. Players are allowed to play in other tabs while waiting for their matches.
-
Rating and Score Calculation:
- Some tournaments are rated and will affect players' ratings.
- Scores are calculated as follows:
- A win earns 2 points.
- A draw earns 1 point.
- A loss does not award any points.
- Consecutive wins initiate a double point streak, with wins worth 4 points, draws worth 2 points, and losses still worth no points.
-
Arena Berserk:
- By clicking the Berserk button at the start of a game, players lose half of their clock time.
- A win in a Berserk game is worth one extra tournament point.
- Berserk cancels the increment in time controls with an increment, except for 1+2.
- Berserk is not available for games with zero initial time (0+1, 0+2).
- Players must make at least 7 moves in a Berserk game to receive the extra point.
-
Determining the Winner:
- The player(s) with the most points at the end of the tournament's set time limit are declared the winner(s).
- In case of tied points, tournament performance is used as the tiebreaker.
-
Pairing Process:
- Players are initially paired based on their rating.
- Upon finishing a game, players return to the tournament lobby and are then paired with a player close to their ranking to minimize wait time.
-
Tournament Conclusion:
- The tournament has a countdown clock.
- When the timer reaches zero, the tournament rankings are frozen, and the winner is announced.
- Games in progress at the end of the tournament do not count towards the tournament.
-
Additional Rules:
- Players must make their first move within the specified time limit or forfeit the game.
- Drawing the game within the first 10 moves will not earn any points.
- Draw streaks: Only the first draw in a streak of consecutive draws will result in a point. A draw streak can only be broken by a win, not by a loss or another draw.
