Caro-Kann Defense: Other variations
  1. jg777 well I planned to try for a middle game but no luck, endgame it is.
  2. jg777 playing for c5 to get rid of my one structural weakness. Probably won’t castle since a likely endgame will arise soon.
  3. jg777 I’m trying to decide if white plays c4 immediately if I take right away or play c5. If c4 dxc Qxc Nd5 Qxc Rc8 I regain my pawn from c2.
  4. jg777 but Qb7 attacking a7 makes it less clear to me.
  5. jg777 but I don’t need to worry because white plays on the kingside.
  6. jg777 I don’t believe in whites attack. I can easily just castle queenside if need be.
  7. jg777 g6 might be fun to play, now that DSB is a bit stuck inside the pawns.
  8. jg777 other idea is Na5 aiming to go to c4 but I think f5 from white might give me a headache so perhaps g6 is better. Maybe provoke g4!?
  9. jg777 I always have c4 attacking queen and moving it off the diagonal if need be so Na5 is premature; plus it might make more sense on f5.
  10. jg777 for example g4 c4 and f5 is safe after Ne7. Then I castle queenside perhaps and go after white king since pawns are pushed up?

  14. jg777 if I had a4 played already I’d be happy because that idea makes white DSB completely boxed in. But a4 Ba3 would be annoying to meet.

  16. jg777 now his main hope is Bf2 to h4 and controlling that diagonal. So I need to address this idea somehow. Probably Ne7 h5 Nf5...
