  1. Dmathman I hope he castles King side. I'm out of theory here but I know the basic plan for when he castles king side. Maybe I should play Kb1?
  2. Dmathman Or is there something more dynamic here? Maybe I execute my Ne4 maneuver now?
  3. Dmathman I can also play Re1 and threaten Nf5 or can I even play Nf5 now?
  4. Dmathman seems unlikely but maybe worth some thought
  5. Dmathman Probably Qe2 here, I'm used to playing Qd3 though
  6. WarGoblin Which side should black castle here?
  7. InfernalJumble I'd go long as I think it's easier for White to launch an attack
  8. InfernalJumble with advanced h-pawn
  9. Dmathman Ooooh
  10. InfernalJumble although chucking a-pawn up the board might work
  11. Dmathman I want g4 and an attack now. Some calculation is required.
  12. Dmathman I even have f2 guarded which is a plus
  13. Dmathman So if g4 Bf4 then I would probably play g5
  14. Dmathman Lines look good
  15. WarGoblin Isn't that pawn just hanging
  16. Dmathman Might as well take some time, which rook?
  17. Dmathman I think the h rook will help push the pawn
  18. Dmathman and I don't think I'll have to worry about the d pawn
  19. Dmathman if f5 then Qxe6
  20. Dmathman Alright now to increase pressure
  21. Dmathman I think I will just have to play Bxg7 and then push h6, seems pretty straight forward
  22. Dmathman I am reminded of a lesson GM Lars Bo Hansen once taught. "Sit on your hands" I'm going to take my time.
  23. dose7781 i will surviiive, i will surviiiiive, heeey heeeey...
  24. InfernalJumble loving the optimism
  25. Dmathman I didn't want to let his king escape but this is also winning so I decided to keep it simple
  26. Dmathman Lights out
  27. FelixNL Yeah
  28. FelixNL it might not be mate but it loses the rooks at least
  29. dose7781 time was not the problem, i just underestimated the threats
  30. dose7781 or just didn't think of an immediate Bxh6
  31. dose7781 bad play (tm)
  32. Dmathman You have to be wary of g4 when you castle king side in the caro
  33. dose7781 my theory knowledge is very limited
  34. dose7781 learning something new every day :D
  35. Dmathman https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUZAyFpMQxw
  36. Dmathman I saw this video a while back
  37. dose7781 i thought i'll castle queenside and push lots of pawns towards your king
  38. dose7781 err kingside
  39. dose7781 i think i do not like the caro-kann much anymore
  40. Dmathman Lol
  41. Dmathman Dang, I tried looking at 23. Ne5 too
  42. Dmathman I missed Rh7 LOL nasty
  43. Dmathman I kept it simple at the end but it would have been nice to find these crazy lines
  44. dose7781 :D
  45. dose7781 anyway, well played, thanks for the game
  46. Dmathman Yes, thanks for the game.
