  1. pparmin Yeah, I was really euphoric when I found that move tbh
  2. pparmin I had calculated it over a couple of moves
  3. pparmin So in that sense I already feel like the game was a big success
  4. PracticalSound me too, but I though I had time to put the queen en g2
  5. pparmin I was happy with the draw eventually though
  6. pparmin I think it would have been very tough to finish the game with 20 minutes less than you
  7. PracticalSound I think for move 19
  8. PracticalSound I calculated if you take with you knigh I go to f6 and if you take with the pawn I go f6 with the pawn, something like that
  9. PracticalSound but I didn't calculate not taking the bishop!
  10. PracticalSound oh look, I could move the pawn!, that's so cool
  11. pparmin On what move?
  12. PracticalSound 18
  13. PracticalSound f6 instead
  14. pparmin Ah yeah, I actually expected you to make this move
  15. PracticalSound i totally missed it
  16. pparmin I would have played Ng5 regardless though
  17. pparmin Which is super awesome, because you jump into a fork thats actually beneficial
  18. pparmin You cant take any of the pieces since it threatens mate in 1
  19. PracticalSound haha yes
  20. pparmin In hindsight I should definitely have played for the win
  21. PracticalSound I think so too, you had great advantage
  22. pparmin Yeah, considering that your black bishop was basically useless in the current position
  23. PracticalSound exactly, it was a great defender but nothing else
  24. pparmin But I was a little bit worried that I would run into time trouble and I think I underestimated my advantage
  25. PracticalSound the thing about d4 is always get's this sort of close positions that are very hard to crack
  26. pparmin Yeah, I nearly played e4 actually
  27. PracticalSound I was trying to learn something against d4 last night in case you played it
  28. PracticalSound hahaha, me too
  29. pparmin But the thing is that most players with black struggle more with playing against d4 in my experience
  30. pparmin And I like the London for the fact that it lets you develop relatively safe
  31. PracticalSound I certainly do
  32. pparmin And considering that you have over 200 more rating than myself, I wanted to play it safe
  33. PracticalSound well, don't pay too much attention to that, I started playing online this year, so I think the rating is very accurate
  34. pparmin Yeah, you're probably right
  35. PracticalSound *is not very accurate I meant
  36. pparmin Yeah, considering the end position, I absolutely should have continued. Damn, I am a bit annoyed right now :D
  37. PracticalSound haha, that's chess !
  38. pparmin Yeah...it can be infuriating way too often :D
  39. PracticalSound we all love/hate chess I think :-D
  40. pparmin Oh yes. I am at least happy I have discovered the longer time controls. I feel like such a better player in this tournament than in Rapid
  41. pparmin I often play on chess.com as well, usually 15/10
  42. pparmin I blunder considerably more
  43. PracticalSound oh yes, same here
  44. PracticalSound rapid chess is fun after a day's work, but it's not the same
  45. PracticalSound you can even learn more in this kind of time controls
  46. PracticalSound well, it was a pleasure, I really enjoyed the game. I'm going to grab something for breakfast
  47. PracticalSound thanks again!
  48. pparmin Ah right, you're in Argentina!
  49. pparmin Entonces, buen provecho!
  50. PracticalSound yes, it's late here but I didn't time to get breakfast
  51. PracticalSound muchas gracias!
  52. pparmin Ojala vas a comer unos alfajones por desayuno :D
  53. PracticalSound hahaha, no para desayuno. Where are from?
  54. pparmin Germany :) but wife is colombian
  55. pparmin My Spanish is a bit rusty atm though, since I don't need it as much as usual
  56. pparmin Usually we spend a lot more time in Colombia
  57. PracticalSound right, COVID times :-(
  58. PracticalSound I went to Germany once, love it there and meet some great people there as well
  59. PracticalSound (used to work for a German company)
  60. pparmin Oh, thats awesome :)
  61. pparmin Yeah, Germany can be a great place to be
  62. pparmin I have to say I do miss the Colombian culture sometimes though
  63. pparmin Germans tend to be a lot colder
  64. PracticalSound I think we are all a bit attracted to the opposite side, maybe because we are too used to our own stuff
  65. pparmin Yeah, I think so too. Which is why I truly hope for Covid to go away
  66. pparmin I really miss Colombia and South America in general
  67. pparmin I never could make it to Argentina yet though
  68. pparmin It's very high up on the list
  69. PracticalSound hopefully if you get here you can visit Patagonia (I live in Bs As, but all my holidays I travel down there)
  70. pparmin Oh yes! Patagonia looks amazing
  71. PracticalSound and if you get to Bs As let me know and we can play some chess!
  72. pparmin Haha, that would be awesome :)
  73. pparmin I will follow you! Maybe we can already play a few games before that!
  74. PracticalSound of course, I added you as well
  75. pparmin perfect :) then I hope you will have a nice, albeit delayed, breakfast
  76. PracticalSound thank you! see you soon!
