  1. glbert go Lukhas!
  2. glbert for some reason, whenever i spectate one of his games, lukhas seems to be playing white.
  3. glbert odd, very odd.
  4. Lukhas I very briefly prepared the Kan and the Taimanov, but not deep enough to rely on it, so I'll just wing it
  5. Lukhas I'm supposed to Nxc6 at some point, can't remember when
  6. Lukhas let's try now and play some good moves after that
  7. glbert doing it asap can'T hurt.
  8. Lukhas I wonder if I can play it like a Najdorf and go for an English attack... probably not
  9. Lukhas my oppo is spending a lot of time, I must be so out of book he thinks I'm unleashing a deadly novelty...
  10. Lukhas meanwhile, I'm not sure if I should put my DSB on b2 or e3
  11. Delpire I couldn't decide to play e5 or Be7, move 8.
  12. Delpire was a bit worried about white playing 9.e5 as some sort of pawn sac.
  13. Lukhas let's wait until he decides what to do with his DSB before committing mine
  14. Lukhas ok, Bb2 it is then :)
  15. Lukhas Bb2 Ne2 c4? too ambitious maybe
  16. Lukhas I may be playing a bit too fast...
  17. Lukhas so I thought d5 right now wasn't super great for him but we'll see
  18. Lukhas Ne2 loses a few tempi for my LSB, so I'd rather go Nb1 to d2, IMHO
  19. Lukhas 14..e4 Bf1 GM move
  20. Lukhas the other plan is Nd2 to f3 or c4, depending on the pawn structure
  21. Delpire hmm, I really want to force ...e4, but don't want to deal with Bxf6 and the weakening of my pawns.
  22. Delpire so, maybe I should have just played 14...e4?
  23. Lukhas Rc1 and c4 also look nice
  24. Lukhas hmm 17.Rc1 and Bg4 is awkward, so maybe h3 if I have the time? I dunno
  25. Lukhas Nb3 first to give the d2 square to m'lady
  26. Lukhas so this I didn't expect or even calculate..., I am dumb
  27. Lukhas still terrible at tactics, yay me
  28. jckund Bg1 now with a dual threat on f2+ and Qh2#?
  29. Lukhas dude, stop mating me
  30. jckund Well played
  31. Tranzoo good game
  32. Lukhas well that went well
  33. Delpire i assume Nb1 was to play c4, right?
  34. Lukhas yeah
  35. Lukhas well, not in all lines, but that was one plan
  36. Lukhas maybe I had too many plans
  37. Lukhas I thought my position was good until the end
  38. Lukhas the engine disagrees strongly :)
  39. Lukhas (until Bxh2 I mean)
  40. Delpire I think the engine has the ability to hold the two center pawns, idiots like me, probably not.
  41. Delpire your assessment ws more real-world.
  42. Lukhas yeah I was fully expecting to keep manoeuvering to pressure your center
  43. Lukhas reverse grunfeld style
  44. Lukhas turns out I should have looked at my king
  45. Lukhas so overall my plan to let you push your pawns and counter attack is rubbish then
  46. Delpire maybe the plan was ok, just execution was lacking?
  47. Lukhas yeah could be
  48. Delpire i mean, what else should you do against my pawns?
  49. Delpire blockade and chip away.
  50. Lukhas I'd drop that plan totally and change lines earlier
  51. Lukhas the mainline goes 7.e5, for instance
  52. Lukhas e5 and f4, ballsy
  53. Delpire that's one way tpo punish this chameleon-like sicilian.
  54. Delpire I need to stop this taimanov move order.
  55. Delpire i hate facing Nxc6
  56. Lukhas that's my last move from book :)
  57. Delpire gets me into french structure, not fun.
  58. Lukhas and I probably picked a3 from another Sicilian
  59. Delpire i think after black puts Q on c7, Bb4->Bxc3 is a threat, but not really until then.
  60. Delpire and, with the pawn on c6, again... a lot of that isn't happening.
  61. Lukhas yeah
  62. Lukhas funny because in most Sicilians you don't want to take on c6
  63. Lukhas but in the Taimanov it's the second most popular line
  64. Delpire true. in the book I have it gets a whole section. and it's wildly popular at our level.
  65. Delpire which is weird, because I feel like black gets more from the trade.
  66. Delpire i mean, the a-pawn is weak, but strong center
  67. Delpire well, I'm taking off. GL in the rest of your games!
