English Opening: King's English Variation
  1. DiscoverChex the main break in the grand prix is f4 when playing it as black
  2. HakonJ right, and you'd want to have that supported by e5 often
  3. HakonJ so by playing 1...e5 you get that in early, instead of e6-e5, which you often have to do with the dutch

  15. HakonJ so I was hesitant, and thought d3 was more solid

  36. DiscoverChex yeah, I think white is usually ok with just devoting the LSB to defense with a usually quiet game happening
