Magnus Carlsen on Winning the Magnus Carlsen Chess Tour

It's a good thing that Magnus and Hikaru demonstrate more respect for one another than their fans.

Yes... it's crazy the antipathy people have for strong chess sometimes. If you have so much animosity for them, how much more for everyone else?

Hi all. And congrats to Carlsen for winning the Chess Tour Finals.
Unfortunately I don't understand why Carlsen won the match. It was a draw and both players have the same points.
Can someone explain why the point goes to Carlsen for the last match?

Carlsen won because he drew in the armageddon as black. Black loses a minute of time but wins if it is a draw

@der-alex It is armageddon, if they tie after rapid games they go into 2 blitz games. And if needed they play an armageddon to decide the winner. Magnus chose who goes with which colour because he is the leader of the whole event. He chose black so he got 4 minutes ( 1 minute less) Hikaru got 5 minutes but Hikaru was in a must win situation. So Carlsen drew the game and he won.

When we say GOAT we compare human vs human. Humans that played chess.
Theres TCEC to know which engine is better however engines cant be GOAT's
