New York 2024 ... Can it be done ? Top Level International Tournament

> To Celebrate One Hundred Years since New York 1924

As a teenager I bought the two books from the grandmaster tournaments "New York 1924" and "New York 1927", analyzed and commented on by Alekhine. Because the second book wasn't that extensive, I first played through all the games from this one. Unfortunately, I only managed about a quarter of the games from the book "New York 1924" - after Lasker vs. Lasker it was over, because after that I lost my condition.

The 100th anniversary next year could be an incentive and motivation for me to finally analyze the remaining games of this tournament. :-)
Not easy to organize as New York would need some Patrons to help . The Marshall Chess Club would be Involved we would hope but everyone coming out of the Pandemic' especially Chess-wise financially . Would be interesting to see maybe some Online Backing for this tournament to make it a Reality . St Louis seems to be the hub of Chess in the USA now' but certainly would be nice to see New York 2024
Nice book, famous games by the stars. The oldest chap won :)
Someone should pitch this idea to Rex Sinquefield. I think the Saint Louis chess club is the only club capable of organizing such tournament at the moment.

There will definitely be chess lovers and sponsors in NYC who are proud and have the financial means to organize such an anniversary tournament!

Hopefully Sinquefield's help will not be needed as then it would also be clear how the tournament would be put together with its well known and saturated players.
As someone who plays at the Marshall, that place is in dire need of an upgrade. That place is so stuffy and old...
The daily drawing of lots was done only a short period before the games got started^^ Unbelievable today.
