Is a "pity resignation" against lichess rules?

Occasionally I'll get paired against a high rated player who is destroying me on the board but then hits a big lag spike. In these cases, I can win the game and destroy that player's rating, but often I will elect to resign instead, knowing that I am totally lost on the board and it feels unsporting to win because of lag. I understand that it is my _right_ to take the win, but it just feels really unfair to me.

Sometimes I will get a message from my opponent thanking me for being a good sport and not taking the win under those circumstances. It feels really good to get such a message, of course.

Question: Am I breaking any lichess rules here? I worry that I'm going to get into trouble because of the "don't deliberately lose games" rule.
I don't play bullet when my internet lags..

So, if they do, its their fault, and you are not supposed to feel sorry about it. play your game normally

I totally agree, I've been losing many games where It is obvious that I am winning when my internet goes off, in some regions of the world you can't tell when the internet is going off and when it is back so I think lichess should add a function where it calculates the position and autodraws
I don't play bullet but yes it seems if you deliberately resign that is the same as deliberately losing. It is not your problem if your opponent has "lag" after all you both played for fun not rating points
